The Fireflies caught my attention a couple of years ago and I found it awe-inspiring to undertake such a challenging ride. 20 years ago I lost a friend to Leukaemia - it was sudden and tragic. My father died of bowel cancer 14 years ago and more recently a couple of years ago my father in law Chris Harper passed away with cancer.  This is the scourge of our age. I want to raise funds to research and find a cure for Leukaemia and this research can also help with other cancers and subsequently save lives.

Having been a runner I'd never really considered cycling and before 8 months ago I'd never been on a road bike. Up til a month ago was still using my 11 year old daughters helmet and borrowed kit and refusing to consider Rapha. How things change.
