We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. Please note that anything you sponsor me will be tripled by event sponsors. So if you sponsor me £10, the charity will actually get £30 as a result (plus gift aid.) Sponsor me £33.34, and they'll get £100.02!

Carten100 is a 108 mile (173km) ride from Cardiff to Tenby, mainly using open public roads, with the occasional respite of a bike path. I think there'll be a couple of thousand of us doing it. I'm supposed to be doing the Bristol 10km 'Great Run' the following day, but at this rate I'll just be grateful to make it to Tenby in one piece.

I've left my sponsorship begging late, as a lack of preparation meant I wasn't sure whether I'd do the ride. But I've decided I'm going to go through with it, even if I have to keep stopping to pop ibuprofen, stretch my back and replace my knee.

Any money I can raise via this page will help push me down the A48 towards the beautiful West Walian coast, and hopefully stop me from getting on a train at any point.

JDRF is the ride's nominated charity this year. The idea is to pool all riders' and sponsors' money together to make a big difference to a different charity each year. You can go to this page to find out more about JDRF's work to eradicate type 1 diabetes - https://jdrf.org.uk/about-us/
