We're all affected by cancer...either ourselves, family members, friends and/or work colleagues.

I saw the 'call' for walkers to do The Big Walk back in January 2017, and thought to myself...'why not?' ... BUT ... for a person who finds it a challenge to put on a pair of trainers ... it takes commitment, determination and a real reason to want to do what I'm about to do.

The Big Walk is the longest and most challenging group charity walk in Wales, The Big Walk was launched in 2014 to help raise funds for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. The annual event (which will be on the 10th June 2017) involves NINE hours of walking and a distance of 30 MILES from the Principality Stadium, Cardiff to Kenfig Hill RFC, Bridgend.

Since registering on the 28th January 2017, two members of my family have both had a prostatectomy (removal of the prostate) after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

As a barber, I'm raising awareness of how important it is to get a PSA blood test and to be checked by a doctor. The earlier it's caught and diagnosed, the better.
