Story

After being inspired by the British Equestrian Trade Associations (BETA) 2016 campaign 'Take up the Reins', Peter Wilkes (MD of the Equestrian Company Vale Brothers Ltd) set himself a personal challenge. This was to learn to ride and compete at a Show Jumping competition with jumps set at 1 metre in height - all in just 20 lessons. In October of the same year Peter completed his goal with just a couple of un scheduled dismounts...

Having successfully achieved his original Equestrian challenge Peter had the option to 'hang up his boots' and bask in the glory and perhaps pursue a slightly less challenging pastime. Instead he has chosen to push his aging body to the limits (easily done) by entering a 40k Endurance race organised by Endurance GB. This high profile event attracts professional and amateur riders from all around the World and will take place in the grounds of Windsor Great Park on Friday 12th May, during the Royal Windsor Horse Show. No pressure then...

In order to give Peter an incentive to complete his challenge (and it won't be a 'walk in the park') he would like to raise money for 2 chosen charities including the Midlands Air Ambulance. Please support Peter and the charity by making a donation.
