Event: Lands End to John O'Groats, on 22 August 2018
We use connectivity & technology to drive social change & improve lives

Story

Last year it was a double marathon... This year it's apparently the equivalent of doing nine marathons on nine consecutive days!

Once again I am taking on a massive challenge to raise money for a very worthy cause; supporting refugees globally.

I will be cycling 1,000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats over nine consecutive days this September*. That's about 110 miles per day with a total of 50,000 feet of climbing. (@ any non-cyclists, this is going to be really, really hard).

Why?

To raise money for refugees who have fled their homes, traveled for thousands of miles and are now find themselves in camps without the most basic necessities.

Many of these refugees come from countries that I feel personally close to, and I believe it is our shared responsibility to support them. We have all watched the horror of the wars in Syria and Iraq from our TV or phone screens- now is your time to make a contribution to those affected.

Your donations will be channeled to two charities: Help Refugees and UNHCR. Help Refugees is a wonderful organisation providing direct aid to refugees all over the world, but especially those close to home in Europe. They provide practical items to refugees arriving in camps; shelters, sleeping bags, solar lamps, and hot meals. UNHCR is the UN agency responsible for supporting refugees globally, from providing basic shelter to supporting refugees to seek asylum.

My target is a whopping £3,000, so I desperately need your support! Vodafone will match every donation pound-for-pound, which makes this a great investment!

Last of all, I am documenting my training and LEGOJ through a dedicated Instagram account, follow me here! https://www.instagram.com/bobbiecyclesbritain/

*Not 2018 as per the title of this page- that's a JustGiving mistake that I'm getting fixed.
