Hello!

And thank you for taking the time to visit the latest fundraising page of the Veronica Claxton memorial fund. Once again we are out and about looking to make a difference to the lives of young people living with cancer. This years late summer cycle sees us attempt to cycle nearly 500 miles from Edinburgh castle to Tower bridge in London.

After last years hugely successful London to Paris cycle which saw 14 of us raise £15,000 the ante has been upped yet again. 18 men, 2 countries, 5 days and 460 miles. A huge challenge for all of us but one we are all training very hard for to make it as enjoyable as possible.

As with everything we do there is a huge reason behind it as we look to add to the £240,000 we have managed to raise over the past few years for various good causes in memory of my lovely mum who we lost to cancer aged 50 in late December 2008. Every penny raised on this event will go towards our overall £250,000 target for CLIC Sargent which can be viewed at www.justgiving.com/teams/target250k , as of April 2017 we are well over halfway and looking forward to boosting the total even further with this brilliant event.

This years 18 man cycling team will be made up of the following : Luke Claxton, James Hustwayte, Simon Wareing, Dougie Gallimore, Daniel Moyes, Mark Ling, Steve Smith, Nick Dean, Liam Johnson, Ade Tattersall, Glen Huddle, Dave Pinner, Richard Cochrane, Richard Todd, Paul Innes, Paul Wills, Andy Park and Dave Rigby.

With our crucial 4 man support crew of : Craig Green, Darren Rayner, Danny Smith and Andy Claxton.

Whilst we have funded the majority of this trip ourselves we thank the companies who have rallied behind us and chipped in some money to pay for the last few bits. Your company logos and info will cover our support vehicles all the way.

Thank you for your fantastic loyal support as always.

Luke Claxton

When cancer strikes young lives CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. Today, 11 more children and young people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. From diagnosis, CLIC Sargent’s specialist care teams will step in, ready to help, support and guide. CLIC Sargent will fight tirelessly for them, individually, locally and nationally, so that they can focus on the important things. To find out more visit www.clicsargent.org.uk.
