Story
I'm Simon (on the left of the picture!), I'm the Chair of The Food Chain, and I'm doing the three peaks challenge to raise money to ensure that people living with HIV have access to food and nutrition support, so that they can get well, stay well, and make informed decisions to lead healthy, independent lives.
Your donation will help The Food Chain to respond to people's immediate need for food and nutritional support at times of health crisis in their lives. It will also help fund the practical tools people need to self-manage their condition for the long term.
This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and is not one for the faint hearted.
The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres (4,409 ft) is the tallest of the three.
From there the expedition will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).
The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at 1,085 m (3,560 ft).
The total distance walked will be around 44 km (27 miles), with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).
