MRI-PET is the most powerful imaging technology currently available and this facility would transform our research by increasing our understanding of the causes, effects and development of many kinds of disease, including Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Heart and lung diseases, Motor Neurone Disease and Stroke.
The MRI-PET Facility would be located at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the central University campus, ideal for both direct clinical use and for research programmes. This would be the first MRI-PET Facility in Yorkshire and a vital investment in the health of people in this region, across the UK and beyond.
The Big Walk 2017 will take place on 30 June – 1 July 2017 and is a challenge to see how much of a 50-mile circular walk our team members can cover in up to 24 hours! Starting and finishing on the University campus, the walk takes in stunning scenery in the Peak District, including Stanage, Burbage, Froggatt and Curbar Edges, the Chatsworth Estate, Bakewell and part of the Monsal Trail.
So please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
