Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and colleagues are doing a walk for Cardiomyopathy UK (the heart muscle charity).
Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle, which can affect people of all ages and is the main cause of sudden death in young adults. It is thought to affect around 160,000 people in the UK, which is around 1 in 500 people. It can also be hereditary and affect several members of a family.
Those of you who know me, will be aware that I was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a form of this disease over 13 years ago. Without the specialist care I received from 'The Heart Hospital' and more recently 'St Bartholomew's Heart Centre' in London, I would not be here today.
So please guys, can I ask you to donate to this great cause, in order for more people like myself to get the information and help they need, to raise awareness, improve diagnosis and the management of the condition and promote medical research. #teamcardio!
