Regardless of your political beliefs, there are countless numbers of innocent men, women and children, whose lives have been utterly devastated by the ongoing conflict in Syria. 

In our own busy lives, we can often overlook the suffering of others in different countries. I am running the Coventry Half Marathon on the 19th of March to raise money for the Penny Appeal. 

Penny Appeal works in over 30 countries,  they are working with displaced Syrians in refugee camps in neighbouring countries, providing food, medical aid and support. The children of Syria are growing up surrounded by destruction, disease and death. 4.8 million Syrians are refugees, and 6.5 million are displaced within Syria and have no place to call home. The people of Syria are continually subject to horrifying conflict. Families, widows and the elderly have a daily battle for survival.   Living amidst the ruins, facing endless poverty and with no chance of a stable future - they desperately need our help.
