Story

The AEC fundraising team will be carrying out a few events through out the year to raise money for Medical Detection Dogs.

The first event will be taking place in August 2017 - where our Owner and Director Mandy Reid will be attempting her 2nd channel swim with her long distance swimming club 'Warrington Dolphins'.

This will be a channel relay crossing, which involves a team of swimmers who must swim in the same order for an hour at a time. They will be swimming from the White Cliff's of Dover over to France following the rules according to the Channel Swimming Plotting Federation (CSPF) Passing cargo ships, ferries, dolphins and the odd sea lion along the way.

Mandy's 1st attempt at the swim was completed in 14hrs and 4 mins, they are hoping to beat that time this year amongst a team with varied abilities. They will be enduring long hours of sea sickness aboard the support boat as well as the exertion of their swimming relay.

Our 2nd event of 2017 will be taking place in early September. Our fundraising team of over 20 volunteers are taking on the infamous National Three Peaks challenge. The challenge involves climbing the highest peaks within England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours. Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pike and Snowden.

The team will be starting their challenge at the break of dawn and will be walking the peaks until sunset and beyond, with only rest available during the travel in-between destinations. The challenge will include approximately 13 hours walking time, and 11 hours driving.

Please give generously for these amazing challenges
