Story

I spent many a happy hour on various muddy fields with Lee during our rugby careers.  Never one to take a step backwards, Lee would always lead into any fray with the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger man!  This is a very good foundation for the battle he currently faces.

Always a pleasure to play with, it was always a precursor to the real reason we played, which was to socialise and generally create merriment.   Whether it was the pubs and bars of Birmingham, the stands at Twickenham or the many stag do's and Tours that we frequented, Lee has always been front and centre.

Latterly we have got to know Lee the father and it is fair to say that the same enthusiasm is being applied to this role and, together with Alex, retains his full attention.

This 'adventure' isn't the easiest for me as a novice to cycling and 'big boned' with it - the climbing through Snowdon, The Cambrians and The Brecon Beacons will be an obvious challenge.  The training has been punishing (and well as educational!) and the time and effort that I have put in will ensure successful completion I am sure.  The Velo in September 2017 is a 100 mile marathon equivalent and this will be the pinnacle of the physical challenges.

I know how important the funds and additional awareness for The Net Patient Foundation are having spoken with them regularly over the past few months and hope that this is the start of a journey where we can continue to support and contribute over the coming months.
