My daughter Grace was born with a rare genetic skin condition called Congenital melanocytic Naevi. Basically 70% of her body is covered in a birthmark with smaller multiple ones called satellites. These will continue to increase as she gets older. With this type of skin condition,especially in childhood, there is a higher risk of melanoma and neural/spinal problems. Unfortunately this has caused some fatalities, which is why I want to raise money to further the research into this rare condition, raise awareness and give something back to a charity which has so far been so supportive. Whether it is reassuring me and supporting me on the phone when Grace's birthmark became seriously infected  (I now know this being common with children with CMN), monitoring her skin and offering advice when visiting Great Ormond Street for yearly routine appointments, putting together family support days/outings/ weekends so Grace can meet other children with the same condition and i can talk to other families going through the same thing. So please help by supporting me to help raise some money which will help towards further research into hopefully one day a cure which at the moment is untreatable and for awareness to be raised of this condition.
