Story
I am hoping to run* every day in January to help fund raise for the mental health charity Mind.
I struggle with anxiety on a daily basis, which often limits what I feel able to do. I've also struggled in the recent past with depression and exercise is one of the first things to get thrown out of the window in favour of sitting in front of the tv, or even going to bed.
But physical exercise is known to help manage and improve mental health so 1,000s of people across the UK have pledged to combat their low moods and raise awareness by doing their best to get off their sofas, don a pair of trainers, get out in the cold weather and run through their anxiety and low mood.
Please support me in this challenge by donating money on my behalf to Mind. And if you see anyone running this January who might be struggling, give them a little wave and smile, it really helps :-)
*There's no minimum distance: the idea is just to get outside and get moving. My knees are shot from previous half marathon training however, so I may need to substitute a run with swimming or going to the gym!
