Mental illness isn't something that you can see or touch.  It's a deep rooted illness that is very hard to understand or treat.  The people who battle with this illness struggle to get the help, advice and treatment that they so desperately need and deserve when they are in the depths of despair.

We all probably know of a family member, friend or work colleague who has, or is currently battling with a mental illness.  Please don't turn your back on them because their world is already a lonely, dark, frightening and desolate place.   A hug, a smile, or asking how they are is what they need...don't be scared to act normal around someone with a mental illness because very often all they need is something so simple, which is for you to just listen to them.  

This charity is very dear to my heart and I have wanted to do something to support it for a while.  I am challenging myself to run 100 kilometers during the month of January.
