Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have signed up to take part in the Wobbleberry Challenge because Hannah inspired me through a difficult time this year.  At the age of 47, I think it's time I stopped watching everyone else have fun and I need to get back out there achieving my aims while I can.

The aim is to train for and complete at least one BE80(T) in 2017. For those of you who don't know anything about eventing, that involves riding a dressage test, jumping a course of show jumps and then galloping over a course of cross-country jumps...

Before I can start on the competition itself I have to -

1. Rehabilitate a fabulous ex racehorse called General Montgomery (Monty) and get him fit enough to compete 2. Re-train that racehorse so he understands he can do more than gallop very fast over fences in straight lines (small, elegant dressage circles and neat showjumping is an alien concept to most ex racehorses at first).

3. Next I need to regain my lost confidence (galloping a 17.3hh half tonne of horse at a solid fence takes guts)... this is the toughest part of the challenge for me, I have gradually lost more and more of my riding confidence over the last few years so I need to get it back! And finally 4. Get fit enough to complete all 3 elements of the competition without wobbling off :)

Whatever happens on this journey, please send me your pennies and your pounds so that we can raise loads of money to continue the legacy of the wonderful Hannah Francis :)

About the charity
