Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2016, I signed up to The Wobbleberry Challenge - aimed at wimpy, middle aged riders.   The challenge is to train for, and complete, a British Eventing One Day Event. For my non horsey friends - this is like a triathlon for the horse world - 3 disciplines - dressage, show jumping and cross country - all in one day.

I've trained really hard over the last 18 months to develop our skills and abilities to compete at this level. We've progressed from only jumping small logs on the floor to tackling jumps that are huge (for me- up to hip height). It's not been easy, and I still have a way to go but I will be attempting to complete my challenge on 30th June at Eland Lodge Horse Trials (please keep everything crossed for me!)

The Wobbleberry Challenge is raising money for the Willberry Wonderpony Charity, in memory of Hannah Francis, an inspirational 18 year old who sadly lost her life to bone cancer.  Hannah's Wilberry Wonder Pony Charity is her legacy and supports research into bone cancer and granting equine related wishes to seriously ill people.

As a family, we have experienced heartache and loss through bone cancer. This challenge is my way of giving something back.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and making a donation to such a fantastic cause.

About the charity

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.
