Myself and 21 other brave people will be cycling 470 miles from London to Bordeaux over 6 days. I am really not a cyclist and I have barely been on a bike all year so this is going to be quite a challenge! Still I'm going to hang on for as long as I can make it, my Dad who is considerably older than me is attempting it too and we're going to cycle into Bordeaux together no matter what.

Though I'm not a member (yet) of the Furniture Makers Company my family has been deeply involved in it since its inception in 1951. My great-grandfather, my great-uncles and my Dad have all been Masters of the Company.  The charitable trust of the Company encourages new talent with extensive education programme for schools, students and young professionals. It help's people who are working, or have worked, in the furniture industry and who are facing financial hardship or a personal crisis. They provide grants for individuals, couples and families in need.
