Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page in support of Guide Dog's, we hope you will support us and help us reach our target for this fantastic charity. Plus a great big thank you to all those that have supported us in the past, and hopefully will do so again.

This time our three old Triumphs are taking part in the  Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run 2016. This will be a very special event as it is the 50th anniversary of the first Round Britain Run.

Patrick's yellow 2000 TC, Reg's maroon 2.5 PI, Chris and Annie's blue 2500 TC, will be covering 2,500 miles (including travel to and from the starting point) in just one weekend. It's a big ask for the cars, us and our co-pilots - Jerry, Gary, Martin and Jason

The run is between Friday 7th October and Sunday 9th October 2016. From the start in Hertfordshire we will drive up to John O'Groats for breakfast on Saturday morning. Then down to Lands End for breakfast on Sunday morning, before heading back to the finish in Hertfordshire.

The run includes breathtaking scenery, driving through central Wales in the early hours of Saturday night / Sunday morning, making it to all 17  check points on time and keeping our great old cars going almost non stop for 48 hours.

Since 1990 the event has supported many UK Charities and entrants have raised approximately £510,000.00.

For us and the cars these events are a big challenge, we have lots of fun, usually have a few mechanical issues, a few technical issues e.g. not lost, but not strictly where we should be. And importantly, with your support, an opportunity to help others by raising funds for them.

We pay the entry fees and the full costs of the trip so that all donations go to charity.

It really is a great event, please support us if you can.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
