Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
I have recently signed up to do Tough Mudder on 24th September 2016 alongside some family, friends and colleagues at ECA. Selling points: fun, a good team building exercise and challenging. I can certainly confirm the latter already just by watching the videos... I'll let you know about the other two on the 25th September!
Over the next 6 weeks we will be training for the event (some more so than others!!) with the aim to complete the 10-12 mile course and clamber over the 12 obstacles that stand between the start line and the cold pint of cider waiting at the finish! Having watching the hubby and a couple of his friends take part in Tough Guy multiple times, I know this isn't going to be an easy ride!
As an extra challenge, we as a team, want to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity, Alzheimer's Society. Having seen first hand the effect Alzheimer's has on a person and their surrounding families, I couldn't turn down the opportunity to raise money and do my bit to aid finding a cure for this horrible disease.
Our personal targets are £100 each, however, I am hoping to raise more so please give what you can for this worthy cause.
How will my donation help?
£5 could pay for one person to attend a half hour session at a monthly Dementia Café, providing information and support for people with dementia and their carers.
£20 could pay for 100 copies of Understanding and respecting the person with dementia - one of the Society's most requested factsheets.
£50 could fund one of our National Dementia Helpline Advisors for an hour, as they offer practical advice and emotional support to people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends.
£120 could pay to run Talking Point for one day - the Society's 24/7 online community for all people affected by dementia.
Alzheimer's Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow. We rely on voluntary donations to continue our vital work.
