Story
Apparently I can be quite convincing. After seeing a group building rafts by the river, I thought "this looks cool for us to do at work", which of course quickly spiralled out of control.
Enter Tough Mudder, a 10-12 mile long course littered with 20+ obstacles, 500,000 litres of mud, 40 tons of ice, and thousands of nutters up for a challenge.
My challenge of course was to persuade (read: force) as many work mates as possible to join me, 12 accepted their fate.
Of course, getting 12 yeses was a challenge, but nothing like what we're about to face come September.
But this isn't all for fun, we're here to put our blood, sweat, and tears to good use and raise money for charity at the same time. Our chosen charity is Alzheimer's Society, and this is where you come in.
How will your donation help?
⛄ £5 could pay for one person to attend a half hour session at a monthly Dementia Café, providing information and support for people with dementia and their carers.
⛄ £20 could pay for 100 copies of Understanding and respecting the person with dementia - one of the Society's most requested factsheets.
⛄ £50 could fund one of our National Dementia Helpline Advisors for an hour, as they offer practical advice and emotional support to people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends.
⛄ £120 could pay to run Talking Point for one day - the Society's 24/7 online community for all people affected by dementia.
Alzheimer's Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow. We rely on voluntary donations to continue our vital work.
