The RNLI volunteers are on call 24/7 in all weathers to save the lives of people they have never met. They rescue 23 people, on average, every day. Their volunteers need the best possible kit to withstand strong winds and storms and make sure they can return safely to their families after every rescue.

On 23/09/16, The Forum of the Built Environment and friends are riding a unique 60 mile cycle that starts at The RNLI visitors centre on Whitmore Bay,heading West to Porthcawl lifeboat Station and back to finish at Barry Dock Lifeboat Station in aid of the RNLI. Riders will climb 1,870 feet whilst enjoying beautiful Welsh coastal views as they complete their challenge.

FBE's Chair Paul Gardner says,

“I have always been in awe of the work of the RNLI. Volunteers who alter the way they live their lives so they can be on call and often put their own lives at risk to save the lives of others.”

FBE Cambria is determined that every penny raised will go directly towards purchase of crew kit for Penarth, Barry and Porthcawl Lifeboat station with the committee meeting all event costs.
