We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Much appreciated for those taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well in just 3 days time my work colleagues from Meridian and I will be running the London 10k run this Sunday 10th July 2016, which we will be fundraising for Cancer Research UK, Prostate Cancer UK and The National Autistic Society.

I know it's last minute but I'm hear to help the team at Meridian hit our target of £1000, so any donation will help towards these great causes. So if your feeling kind hearted and want to help me raise some funds it would be so very generous of you to help me out.

This is my first ever fundraiser and I am doing this run on behalf of all those I have known to have lost their lives to cancer, the families who have lost a close loved one to cancer, the extremely brave people who are battling it and finally in honor and memory of my amazing mother who lost her life to mesothelioma (asbestos cancer) on 16 August 2012 after a short 6 month battle with this incurable cancer.

My mum was the most loving, caring, helpful and fun person I have ever known and I am so blessed to have been brought up by such a wonderful women, who has left me with the best memories to live out the rest of my life with. It's been a very tough road for my family especially on how quick your life has to adjust loosing someone so special to you and by not having a cure to save my mum and to see her take her last breathe ripped my heart out, it has been the hardest road I have ever been down and it's true only time is a healer. I have had to challenge myself on a daily basis to keep my chin up and deal with it like she would want me too! I won't ever be the same person I was before as I will never have complete happiness again and it will also kill me knowing I'm bringing in my first baby in to the world in December this year, which she won't be here in person to love, make memories with and to help me raise her gran child, which was one of her main wishes! but through all of this it's made me one hell of a strong person and taught me how to deal with pain in life and I now see her as my guardian angel its finally time to do something in her honor now that I'm ready to do so. It has taken me over 3 to get out of a this dark place through battling a broken heart, the confusion and depression but I have finally except that she is at peace now, so part of this journey is my own personal achievement!

From the day that anyone gets diagnosed with any form of cancer, or even being close to the person who has, it truly is utter devastating! Some might be very lucky and beat it and hats off to all of you that have I couldn't even imagine the journey you've been through, but in most cases it's a very poor outcome and the one thing that I would love to see before I pass away is results on more curable treatments, if not in my lifetime but for the future generations!

Only we can make change! Let's try stop this no1 killer to benefit the world! #beatcancersooner
