Story

Thanks for checking out my Life Cycle 6 Just Giving page. Over the past 6 years, Nottingham Life Cycle has raised over £1.89 million for life-changing research and student support here at the University of Nottingham. So why am I raising money for Life Cycle 6.

Every day, in the
UK, 140 women are told "you have breast cancer". Around the world,
10,000 women die from the disease every week.

Two members of my family have had the news you have breast cancer so this year’s Life cycle is very personal to my family. I could say
a lot about this Cancer and the impact on those affected, and what is being done here at our University. I think Lisa, Caroline, Leanne and Sue who are in the film on the link below put this so much better than I can.

There are
some other links to help you decide if you want to give.

So what am I doing that will get you to sponsor me. As a child of 1966 I am now 50 and felt I should do something to mark this milestone.

Those who know me will know I like to ride my Road bikes so there has to be a couple of bike rides. They are

75 mile Great Notts Bike Ride on the 26 June 2016. The photos on this page are from the Great Notts Bike Ride as you can see proudly wearing the Life Cycle 6 top.

75 mile Life
Cycle 6 on the 4 September 2016.

These are fun but not the challenge I was looking for. A friend who has been on previous bike rides said I have tried your sport why don’t you try mine.

Alan is a runner and so on the 25 September 2016 I will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon. Up to last Christmas all I had run was a bath. Now I find myself training for a Half Marathon.

So if you can support me in raising money to help beat Cancer please give as much as you can.

Thanks

Stuart
