Story
I have stupidly signed up for an Iron Man distance triathalon at Hever Castle in Kent on 10th July. That consists of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile cycle and finished off with a mere full marathon (26 miles) for a run. Oh, and just for good measure, that 112 mile cycle includes a total ascent of around 2,700 metres, which is basically the equivalent of going up and down Ben Nevis...twice.
I'm doing this in memory of my amazing little nephew Elliott who sadly passed away last year as a result of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at just 5 months old. This is by far my biggest challenge yet, and one that I’m genuinely unsure whether or not I will be able to complete. This is where you lot come in - your support will pretty much be the only thing that keeps me going and gets me across that finish line.
HELP! Fundraising for The SMA Trust: funding research into a cure and
treatments for SMA – which is the number 1 genetic killer of babies and
children under 2 in the UK.
PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN & GIFT AID IF YOU ARE A TAX PAYER.
NOTE: To give a donation to Helen & Douglas House Children's Hospice, where Elliott and the whole family spent his last few weeks, please see separate site: http://elliott.collins.muchloved.com/Events/20899328/blog
