Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been running for several years now and so far this has been limited to half marathons and the odd off-road obstacle run. To the best of my knowledge I have never run further than 14 miles in one day. This is about to change...

In less than 3 weeks I will be attempting something significantly outside of my comfort zone. As part of a team of 11 I will be running from London to Cardiff in 24 hrs. The event includes a few team legs that get you no closer to your destination and in total we'll be running over 180 miles. In addition to running we'll also be accompanying our runners on bike, so that's another 160 miles or so of cycling too.

So why am I telling you this? Not solely to advertise my masochistic side, but because I am trying to raise much needed funds for a special cause.

One of Neve's friends has a younger sister, Emmy, who was born with cerebral palsy. Her family are trying to raise enough money to fund life-changing surgery that should enable her to walk. The money will go towards the costs of the surgery, travel and accommodation, post-operative intensive physiotherapy, and the equipment Emmy will require for her rehabilitation.

Please visit the main fundraising page www.justgiving.com/readyemmywalk to read Emmy's story.
