Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

21:30, 31st January, Hearth Of The Ram, Ramsbottom, Matt, Brad and Guy are reminiscing about bike rides they did many years ago:

Brad: we should do the ride again!

Matt: Brad, no offence, but i'm not sure you're fit enough these days!

Guy: i'm up for it...

Matt: i'll do it if you do it Guy...

Brad: oh crap, I've really dropped myself in it now! You'll probably want to do it in fancy dress too!

Matt: even better idea, Brad!

Guy: you better get training.

Brad: ...you're on! [colour suddenly drains from face]

(okay, so it probably didn't quite go like that, but you get the idea!)

And so, without realising it, we'd just agreed to a 60 mile bike ride... in fancy dress, totally forgetting our 30-something ageing bodies.

Fast forward a few months and we now have a squad of 10 budding cyclists - Brad, Matt, Guy, Dan, Ben, Arran, Martin, Simon, Stephen and Lee - gearing up for the ride over the North Yorkshire Moors. We're a mixture of keen cyclists, beginners, unfit geriatrics but most importantly up for the challenge.

We've each decided to raise money for a charity of our choice. I've chosen Rossendale Hospice as they provide amazing palliative care for terminally ill people in Rossendale.

The ride will take place on Saturday, 20th August

Thank you for reading my page and please donate if you can.
