Story
Warner Music’s Wild Ride is a London to Brighton charity cycling challenge to raise money for the important work done by Centrepoint. The ride will start in London and journey 60 miles through Surrey and Sussex to the Brighton shore.
All money raised will go to Centrepoint to help fund the support that they provide to thousands of young people facing homelessness in London and the North East every year.
Over 83,000 young people experience homelessness in the UK each year and it’s getting worse; the number of young people forced to sleep rough in London has doubled in recent years. These young people have nowhere to live, no family and no one to support them.
Young people experiencing homelessness are among the most socially excluded and vulnerable members of society. Centrepoint young people are often victims of severe family breakdown, physical and mental abuse and neglect. Over 30% of homeless young people have a physical health problem. 2 in 5 have no qualifications. Almost 20% have attempted to take their own life. With little or no familial or social networks to rely on, individuals are often trapped in a cycle of exclusion and despair.
