Myself and five of my fellow Paramedics are taking part in this year's UK Challenge. Six stages over three days in Dartmoor centred around team building; working together in order to achieve each task. It is both physically and mentally tough and highlights the need to understand individual strengths and weaknesses in order for us all to succeed.

This year the charity selected is Shelter box, which fits perfectly with the ethos of working together as a team to help those who, through no fault of their own, have found themselves at the mercy of other people's kindness. We have pledged to raise £999.

 'ShelterBox provides emergencyshelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world overwhelmedby disaster and humanitarian crisis. If there are families in need of emergencyshelter, we deliver the essentials they need to begin rebuilding their lives.'

Our aim to raise £999 willprovide 29 SHELTER BOXES which will enable 29 families torebuild and make temporary homes for themselves.

We will be holding a charity event on the 11th June 2016 where we willaim to row the English Channel twice over!
