Story
So here we go again.....
Last time I created one of these pages my lovely Mum had just been diagnosed with Lung Cancer and was so desperately ill. I had never ran a Marathon nor even dreamt of it but felt like the pain of enduring the miles and completing the training was the least I could do when my lovely Mum had such a large hurdle to get over and endless amounts of treatment to get through. The truth as most of you will know was so very heartbreaking, my beautiful mum only managed to get through radiotherapy and never became well or strong enough through illness to have chemotherapy. She passed away just 6 months after being diagnosed.
To the end my mum was the strongest most courageous human being I have ever known. The cancer had travelled to her spine and her arm and everyday she endured the most immense pain - despite all of that she continued to smile, she continued to fight and if truth be known she even continued to shop In the Trafford centre in a wheelchair with oxygen.
She wanted to be at the finish line of my first marathon and was so proud that I raised over £2000 for a charity that helped her so much. Unfortunately she passed away just three weeks before but I continued to run and I carried her with me every step of the 26 miles and felt her immense strength in my heart.....
Cancer effects everybody and those figures are always rising. At present Macmillan can only reach 1 in 3 people and it is my absolute mission to raise as much money as possible because I truly believe with all my soul that NOBODY should face cancer alone.
In memory of my wonderful mum please assist me and my beautiful best friend In giving something back to this incredible charity and helping me achieve my goal in raising 10k In 3 years.
I know purse stings are tight but every single penny counts!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart (and it's pretty big😊)
Much love
Chantelle xxxx
