I thoroughly enjoyed my previous Charity Cycle in 2015 so I thought it would be fun to attempt a slightly more difficult cycle for Charity & to encourage a number of my work colleagues & family/friends to join me in cycling from London to Amsterdam in May 2017!!

Please, please help me & my fellow cycle team mates "The Cleaver Chasers" to raise funds for a worthwhile Charity "Children with Cancer".

Why Children with Cancer Charity - this Charity is close to my heart for this reason, my Aunt Minnie lost her only daughter to childhood leukaemia, my Mother Iris  & close family members watched this beautiful young girl slowly be consumed by cancer. My Mother shared many wonderful memories of visits with her cousin to Blackpool, Great Yarmouth & Bournemouth in the summer months, of running into the waves, making sandcastles & eating candyfloss, cockles & whelks. Sadly as the cancer progressed my Aunts daughter became a shadow of her former self, listless covered in bruises, with little or no appetite. My mother would sit carefully on her cousins bed & try to encourage her to eat just a little more of the lovingly prepared jelly & custard or take one more mouthful of soup.   Sadly, the Cancer ravaged her young body & thankfully the end came whilst sleeping.  

My Aunt made her daughter a promise that she would donate armfuls of blood to help every young child who was suffering from childhood cancers & for the rest of her life made regular blood donations.  This selfless act in turn encouraged my own Mother, my sisters & me to continue this promise & we donate blood regularly.

I also contribute regularly to the Children with Cancer Charity as yet another way in which I can continue in my own small way to help young children with  Cancer.  So please, no matter how small your donation, please keep giving & help me & my fellow "Cleaver Chasers" to reach our target - Thank you.

Why "The Cleaver Chasers", well we are a mixed abilities bunch of cyclists who no doubt will spend the entire weekend at the back of the group attempting to chase after the more elite cyclists at the front!
