On Sunday 22nd of May I will be participating in the annual Morrison’s Great Manchester 10k run,
Why?
I am raising money for the orphans of Iraq. There are millions of children in Iraq who have been left homeless and devastated from losing mothers, fathers, family members and friends from the barbaric hands of ISIS. The Camp Speicher massacre is just one small example of their brutality. Almost 1800 unarmed army volunteers in plain clothes were round up, tortured and beheaded in the most gruesome way. Think of how many babies and young children were left fatherless. And how many wives were left widows?
Not only have they lost loved ones they have also been displaced from their homes and lands with very little possessions with no means of buying even the most basic of necessities. The Iraqi people don't deserve this and neither do the innocent children.
What will IUS Aid do?
IUS Aid is aiming to raise £20,000 funds for the Orphans of Iraq. It takes just £1 a day to meet the basic needs on orphan in Iraq. 100% of all donations go to the orphans so we can provide with them basic necessities: Food, clothing, shelter and most importantly safety.
On the 11th of November 2014, the United Nations refugee agency (UNHRC) released a statement that estimated 13.6 million people have been displaced due to the invasion of Daesh.
We urge you to help the thousands of families in Iraq who are relying on your generosity. We want to help build a brighter future for people who have seen so much war and bloodshed.
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power then the world will know peace".
Thank you.
