Story
Many of you may know me as a friend, a relative and a co-worker. What many of you do not know, is that as a child, I was a victim of violence. I knew about "Stranger Danger" but never expected it to happen to me.
The children of Bangladesh, Bolivia, Malawi and Mauritania face violence, exploitation, abuse and are ill with pneumonia and diarrhoea. I have been privileged enough to have wonderful friends and family as a support system and this is my opportunity to look beyond my comfortable life.
I would be participating in a 5-day trek in the Romanian mountains in September. I am appealing to you to support my efforts so that - together - we will:
- Strengthen community-based child protection to tackle child labour in Bangladesh;
- Tackle violence against children and adolescents, and advancing the child rights agenda in Bolivia;
- Protect and support vulnerable children through the Children's Corners Initiative in Malawi; and
- Improve child health by vaccinating against preventable diseases.
2016 has been a life changing year for me. A year that has tested me emotionally, spiritually and physically. This challenge will be something that I do, not only for the children of UNICEF, but also for myself.
No amount is too small. You can be assured that 100% of your funds will go to UNICEF.
