We work with the homeless in Oxford City to offer food, shelter and support.

Story

The annual Varsity March is a mammoth walk between Oxford and Cambridge (81 miles) or between Oxford and Aylesbury (23 miles) completed in under 48 hours without sleep by Cambridge University Rambling Club and Oxford University Walking Club.

The full distance was completed by Stephanie Smith and club mascot Dylan the Sheep, while David Klingle (Stone to Marsworth), Andy Thomas (Aylesbury to Letchworth) and C.T. (Ashwell to Cambridge) all walked substantial distances and provided vital support.

It's not too late to sponsor us!  This year we are again raising money for the Gatehouse charity in Oxford and for Jimmy’s Cambridge. These charities carry out vital work among the homeless and poorly housed of Oxford and Cambridge. We encourage you to split your donation between the Gatehouse (this page) and our page for Jimmy's Cambridge at www.justgiving.com/varsitymarch2016-jimmys.  Thank you very much for sponsoring us!

A cafe for homeless and vulnerably-housed people aged 25+ in the centre of Oxford. Open six days a week in the early evening. We provide a wide range of support services and advice as well as simple, nutritious food and drink. In other words, a community centre for those who have no community.
