Story
Dear Readers,
- First 10k 30 Obstacles in 2014 (Raised over £500)
- Second 60 mile Walk in Iraq in 2015 (Raised over £1800)
- Third 10K biggest run in May 2016 (Team Target £20000)
All to raise funds for Iraqi Orphans.
I will be fitting my training in my busy work and family life with aim to motivate all ladies, mothers, sisters out there to come and join this race for helping the orphans.
Having visited the cities of Iraq in 2015 and meeting the little angels, it was heart breaking how little I was able to raise to help them provide with basic needs and living. Upon return to UK, IUS aid had clear focus this year to commence a campaign in order to establish a system and process where the needy orphans will be looked after.
Ius aid is supporting
22 orphans in Karbala
20 orphans in Nassiriya
30 orphans in Baghdad
30 orphans in Najaf and a few in Hilla
we also have a project in DhiQar. This was a massive housing project which in
Phase 1 built 30 houses and roads.
Phase 2 is about water supplies to the area. This is split into two parts.
1⃣ water for the overall area
(Costing $7,000)
2⃣ connection of each of the 30 houses to the mainline. This requires the building of a water pipes to each at $1000. ( so $30,000).
However we are in the process of creating a long-term strategy for Iraq. Which would be bringing an element of sustainability to these familes. Building a resource development centre.
These monies from the fundraising can go towards supporting any of these projects or our longterm strategy
