Story

In 2016 I am raising money again for the Prince's Trust, but this year increasing my efforts. In addition to the 100km Wheels for Change fundraising event on 9th September I will be aiming to complete the IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire middle distance triathlon on the 12th June.

I am still relatively new to triathlon having entered my first event in August 2015.  This event will be twice the distance of what I have completed before so represents a significant challenge for me. It consists of a 1.2-mile open water swim, a 56-mile bike course and a 13.1-mile run.

I've been training for this event over the past six months putting in many hours early in the morning and after work both at the gym and outside running and on the bike. So I thought it be worthwhile to put these efforts towards raising money for a good cause.

Even a small donation will go a long way to helping disadvantaged young people turn their lives around and give them opportunities we often take for granted.

About the Prince's Trust

Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. It supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law.

The Trust’s programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work.

Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. The Prince of Wales’s charity has helped 825,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.
