 I love a bit of a challenge so I jumped at the chance to join 5 friends to swim the English Channel as part of a relay team. So together with Kate, Jane, Martin, Jonathan and Clive, as one sixth of the Giddy Kippers we are hoping to swim to France in late July. 

Then I thought, in for a penny in for a pound! So I booked a solo swim too. The second little swim to France is booked for late September 2016.

My life has changed so much over the past few years. Open water swimming has given me and amazing fitness,  yet relaxing hobby. It also lead me to Slimming World where I have lost over 3 stone. In turn I've discovered I LOVE endurance events and I also now have a new career as a Slimming World consultant. It's self employed and was a big decision to change careers at my age. Sometimes we make the right turn,  sometimes not, that's when charities like Crisis can be so vital. 

I'm lucky enough to have a roof over my head but it could so easily be different!  Just a few decisions made differently. It's so difficult to get back into 'normal' life and feel like a member of society again. Crisis helps people get back into normal life,  helping with life skills and other help and advice.
