On November 27th I will be taking part in the Great Ethiopian Run for Vision Aid Overseas!

This will be a 10k run (competing against 37,000 Ethiopians!) through the streets of Addis Ababa, at high altitude (2300m) and it will be hot and hilly and full of obstacles like huge pot holes. 

I will also be travelling to the GTM Butajira clinic to see the positive benefits of the work of Vision Aid Overseas on the local population.

640 million people - 10% of the world's population - are disadvantaged by poor vision and a lack of glasses. Vision Aid Overseas are working hard to combat visual impairment and poverty in developing countries, including Ethiopia. Just £5 can pay for an eye examination and spectacles for a child. Definitely a worthy cause :-)
