Thanks for taking the time to visit our page!!!!
Please have a read of this in full so you see what its about.....
This year we right fancied a challenge. Then we thought, well if were going to do something grueling, then lets raise some money for a great cause. So here we are, asking for you to donate something for us four idiots to put ourselves through a lot of pain.
The Ben Nevis Charity challenge is to climb up Ben Nevis, trek back down (about 20 miles round trip), ride 15 miles to Loch Lochy, canoe 2 miles around Loch Lochy, ride 10 miles back to Fort William. It takes on average about 10/11 hours so I'm sure you can imagine its a bit painful and takes plenty of hard graft.
Our chosen charity is The SMA Trust and for good reason.......
SMA is a genetic neuromuscular disease, which means it is inherited and affects nerves responsible for muscle function. Although classified as rare, SMA is the leading genetic case of death of infants and toddlers, with approximately 95% of the most severely diagnosed cases resulting in death by the age of 18 months. The SMA Trust is solely dedicated to finding a cure for this disease.
We cant think of a better cause than to find a cure for this terrible disease that affects so many infants.
We are doing this to raise money for Team Rowan! Who in turn donate everything to The SMA Trust.
Team Rowan fund raise in loving memory of Rowan Poole who tragically lost her battle with this disease in 2012 at just 18 months old. The team have been tirelessly raising money ever since and we just want to help do our bit to add to this.
So please give what you can to help us raise money for this great cause.....
We hope to update with photos throughout so you can see what we went through to complete the challenge!!
Thank you all for your support and for helping us hopefully reach our target of £3,000.
