Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. We are a group of five from the Manchester Universities Catholic Chaplaincy and this summer our mission is to spend 4 weeks volunteering at St. Ignatius Prep & primary School in Tanzania, Africa.

We want to make a difference through our faith and hope to inspire others on our return from Africa. We feel it is so important to encourage the students to reach their full potential, so we will be providing academic and spiritual support through our own passions and vocations; including science, drawing, reading & writing, music and sport. Part of this will also involve us helping to build a future for the children of St. Ignatius, by updating the IT equipment by providing simple but essential items such as USB sticks. We will work with the students to develop IT skills that will prepare them for adulthood and open up opportunities to find well-paid jobs in local cities when they grow up. 

We also want to continue to contribute to the children's development and give back to the school community long after our visit. For this reason we have decided to record the school choir so that we can create an album of their songs which we will sell back here in the UK. All of the proceeds will will be donated back to the school so that the children benefit directly from their own talent. The school is in need of funds to buy more computers for IT lessons and we want to contribute to this directly. 

The process of organising and fundraising for this trip will teach us to live by faith. This has never been done by us before here at the Chaplaincy, and we believe that working together towards this daring goal will unite us and inspire others.
