We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

We are some of Fin’s friends – Henry, Sam, Harvey, Riley, Dylan and Max – and we are doing a 5K mud run to raise money for Brain Tumour Research to stop brain tumours taking away anybody else’s friend. We’ve even persuaded a few Dads to join us in the muddy run – Simon, Paul, Noel, Stuart and Mike.

About Fin

Fin was our friend. The most significant thing about Fin was his smile. He was always cheerful no matter what the situation. Fin was kind and gentle; if there was ever anything wrong he would come and sit by you. Fin was hardworking and very adventurous, he loved assault courses. At school, we often used to play Star Wars and Fin was always Anakin. Fin was really sporty, and particularly good at karate – he could take anyone down if he wanted to! Fin was also brilliant at video games.

When Fin was 10 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Fin always showed a lot of courage and bravery, but when he got sick he became even more brave and determined to play his part. Fin raised over £100,000 for charity in the time he was ill.

Our friend Fin passed away from a brain tumour on 25th November 2015. He was only 11. We all miss him a lot.

Please Sponsor Us

We want to continue Fin’s fundraising so we’re raising money for Brain Tumour Research to help stop any other kids going through what Fin did. We know if Fin was still with us he’d be doing the mud run as well. We are doing it for him.

Thank you.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
