Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. .My son Jacob was diagnosed with Crohn's 6 years ago. He has spent a large proportion of the last 6 years suffering in severe pain and not being well enough to get out of bed (other than the 20 trips to the toilet each day). In March 2015 he had to have his large bowel removed as it was so badly diseased, he then spent the majority of the next 4 months in hospital due to complications and ended up having emergency surgery for an ileostomy. Since then Jacob has been so well, he is back at school and trying to do all his GCSEs in one year as he missed the whole of year 10 due to his illness. He has been accepted into the college of his choice and has taken up guitar lessons. We are enjoying his good health, thanks to the surgery, an ostomy bag and the extremely strong drugs he is on to manage the Crohn's he has else where (these do not come without risk, his chances of skin cancer and a severe form of lymphoma are increased, as well as all the other health issues attached to immuno suppressants). Unfortunately we are fully aware that these same drugs were not adequate enough to save his large bowel and that this cruel disease could attack  again with avengance at any time. We need a cure for Crohn's now! Thank you in advance for your support.
