Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My team page explains the story of why I am planning on shaving my head on 9th March in a bid to gain your donations for these wonderful charities. It can be found here https://www.justgiving.com/teams/thebigshear

Now, I want to tell you a bit about Health Poverty Action.

Health Poverty Action works to strengthen poor and marginalised communities in their struggle for health. They work in 12 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America to tackle the root causes of poor health as well as the symptoms, by strengthening health services as well as working on nutrition, water, sanitation, immunisation, and income generation. An example of their work is in Rwanda, where Health Poverty Action is building water collection points, building latrines in schools and raising awareness about hygiene and sanitation within local community groups. The charity’s work spreads over a broad range of projects, all of which aim to improve the health of marginalised people. Whichever project the money goes to support, it will significantly improve the lives of people who need it. Find out more about Health Poverty Action here:

If you're on a computer, in the gallery section you will find some photos that showcase my hair and hopefully convince you that raising money by shaving it off is a decent idea. Many thanks to Sophia Crüwell for the awesome photography.
