I am part of Team Newham - organising and walking ‘The East London Big Push”, a fun, 5k walk / buggy push through our fabulous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday September 13th. I will be 38 weeks pregnant when we do the walk so I hope I get to this point in one piece - and that i don't go into labour on the route - it certainly will be my biggest PUSH then!

All money I/We raise has been ring fenced so that it will only be used to develop and improve services to counter postnatal depression and isolation in new parents including developing new NCT work like specific training for volunteers, support group development and projects to support people to spot symptoms and signs earlier.

I would love your financial support; it is estimated that at least 1 in 10 women experience Postnatal Depression in the United Kingdom.  It's a terrible thing to happen at a time when parents need to be able to function and enjoy their newborn.  It's terrible for the whole extended family - and especially the parents and new child. Please help me get round the route and raise cash for this fab cause.  My key message is to help stop the stigma and shame attached to PND that stops women and new parents from speaking out and getting help.
