Story
I haven't seen Sarah since we left school but the wonderful world of Facebook always ensures that we have links with people from our past that we haven't had contact with for years.
This initial reconnection with Sarah was bittersweet. What I mean by that is, our mutual friend brought us into contact because we had experienced some similar events. We both gave birth to the most beautiful daughters (and I'm not even being biased, it's true!) However, due to circumstances neither of us can yet explain, both Sarah's daughter, Heidi and my daughter, Poppy suffered the effects of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE). Sadly, Poppy only survived for 3 days as she could not recover from the oxygen deprivation she had suffered. She would have been 4 in December this year.
To see Heidi thriving is wonderful. You must have a look at her Mummy's blog - www.hiejourney.WordPress.com to see for yourself.
I am proud to join Sarah in raising awareness of HIE and raising some funds for the Bliss charity.
We would be grateful for any donations.
