In memory of Craig Gowans
We support Edinburgh's Children's Hospital to help make time spent in hospital better.

Story

Between Saturday 4th July and Wednesday 8th July 2015, I will be taking part in a record breaking challenge which will involve two 18-man teams smashing the world record for the longest 11 aside football match (The record currently stands at 102 hours).

Why do it?
On the 8th July 2005, a very close friend to a few of the guys in my football team, Craig Gowans, tragically died after an incident on the pitch, whilst training with Falkirk FC; he was only 17 years old. The Craig Gowans Memorial Fund was established shortly after his death by his friends and family, to ensure that Craig's memory and legacy lived on.

The work done by my friends and everyone else involved in the Craig Gowans Memorial Fund is an inspiration to us all, and I'm delighted to be able to contribute in some way to their great work..

Where will my money go if I donate?
I have a fundraising target of £1,000 as does every other player taking part. So, we are aiming to raise £36,000 in total. The £36,000 will be used to fund the building of a state-of-the-art Snoezelen room in Craigs name, to be built in the new Sick Kids hospital in Little France, with the cost of the project being just under £36,000. This will be a calming room with multi sensory equipment to provide a relaxing and stimulating space, particularly important for children with sensory impairments. This holistic treatment can be life changing for families, and this facility will make up a crucial new service for children and young people in Scotland.

Any donation, no matter what the size, is hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your support!
