Story
Hello and thank you for visiting the Convergent Risk Group (CRG) JustGiving page
CRG are proud to be associated with the Friends and the regiment known as the Tigers.
The charity is helping past and serving officers, injured or traumatised, whilst serving their country as well as supporting their families in coming to terms with long term rehabilitation and life after recovery. Equally important to CRG is supporting the regiment to source work and business opportunities after leaving service.
An employee of CRG is former PWRR Sgt Jay Baldwin (Pictured). Jay served 12 years with the regiment and was on his 4th tour of Afghanistan when he suffered traumatic leg injuries requiring double amputation above the knee. The injuries occurred whilst serving on his fourth operational tour in Afghanistan. Simply put he was blown up!
Jay, is an inspiration to everyone he meets, both as a person and colleague. His personal sacrifice, that of others and the grit and determination of his fellow 'Tigers' have allowed many others to improve their quality of life. In return we, as a business, are committed to improving theirs.
Our first challenge has been to contribute towards Jay's life changing surgery, Osseointergration, which he had in February 2015, in Australia.
Since returning Jay is a completely new person, walking into the office on a daily basis all down to the efforts of the Friends.
In order to; increase awareness of the charity, raise funds for Jays surgery and enable others to improve their quality of life after service CRG aim to Cycle 3,000 miles across America In September 2015.
Team CRG is Chris Johnson, Wayne Petford and Jay himself. We are part of two teams of six who will ride modified tandem cycles in a non stop relay from across the USA from Annapolis on the East Coast to Santa Monica on the West Coast.
Please help us to raise as much as possible for this worth while cause.
Thanks for your support!
Chris Johnson
