We fund biomedical research into ME to create a strategy for cure/treatment

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ben has suffered from the debilitating disease ME for most of his childhood. He has gone from a lively bright 8 year old to a 16 year old who is virtually housebound, needs to use a wheelchair and constantly suffers from very painful legs, extreme exhaustion and cognitive fatigue, nausea and general flu-like symptoms.

Despite there being approximately 250,000 sufferers in the UK (25,000 of which are children), very little is known or understood about this illness.

Our aim is to help the ME charities who have supported us, and those who are researching into a cause and cure for ME so that no one else needs to suffer the isolation and stigma this disability causes - nor the horrible symptoms it causes.

The Sandstone Trail runs through Cheshire and North Shropshire from Frodsham to Whitchurch. It is not an easy walk, with steep sections including Beeston Castle and Bickerton, rising 227 metres above sea level. The walk is across a sandstone ridge, woodland and forest, and a canal towpath.
