Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My team and I are walking 100km (about 62 miles) along the South Downs Way together, in under 30 hours (that's non-stop), to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
It is the challenge of a lifetime and will test my teamwork and determination to the limit.
Here's a map of our route: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z6AITdVvGKMA.kde2kU6lgRjU. We will start early in the morning and walk…and keep on walking until we arrive at destination!
Trailwalker is the ultimate physical and mental challenge. As always, the more I train the easier I should find the challenge: I am putting more and more exercise (walks, cardio and body strength workouts) into my day to day life but I need to build up my endurance as well as my mental strength and stamina. My training walks are opportunities for me to learn about myself and my needs: how often I need to drink, how tiredness affects me, which footwear I prefer, and so on.
Luckily I won’t be on my own! I have three fantastic team members: we will be training together and we will be supporting each other until we cross the finish line.
It is going to be tough! What will keep me going is knowing that the money I am raising is going to have a big impact in the lives of many people. Oxfam works in over 90 countries, fighting poverty by responding to emergencies, through development projects and campaigns to tackle the root causes.
Trailwalker also raises money for The Gurkha Welfare Trust whose focus is caring for the elderly Gurkha soldiers and their widows in Nepal to ensure that they have a dignified secure old age.
I hope you will join me in this adventure and support my challenge.
All the money you donate will be sent directly to the charity. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
