Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 12th September 2015 we will be taking part in the Children of Fire 13 mile Monopoly Board walk, visiting every location on the classic London Monopoly Board, to help raise funds for the children. I will be taking pictures at every spot to document our walk :) so you can follow us too via Twitter @lavenderDP (Lavender Dreams Photography) and @ChildrenOfFire

Dorah is a very special young lady, she was badly burned and lost her face and hands at a squatter camp fire in South Africa as a baby and was abandoned, she did not expect to survive, walk or do anything that many of us consider as "quality of life", but despite all, she is now part of a loving family, can walk, shares warm cuddles and joy with those around her.

She is also special because her injures caused another very special lady Bronwen to adopt and nurture this little baby and dedicate her life to establishing the Children of Fire Charity that helps burns victims in Africa. Those who otherwise would not have had any hope are now being helped and loved. They are great kids and an inspiration to all!

You can read more of Dorah's story here on the Children of Fire website:

I would also like to dedicate this walk to the memory of my friend Mayo, who passed away a few years ago, he was born with musculer dystrophy and was one of the longest living persons with this condition, he was physically paralysed but this never defined him, Mayo Loved Life and was a life coach, always helping others.

p.s. Oliver the pug has very short legs so he will not be able to walk 13 miles by himself, I am trying to come up with some sort of transporting idea to help him along the way :) Any ideas welcome :)
